CLPE Multicultural Book Fair

Tuesday 18 September 2007, 12 noon - 6.30pm

The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education is proud to host its fourth multicultural book fair where specialist booksellers and publishers display and sell their resources.

This book fair will be of interest to teachers, parents, librarians, students and workers in Children’s Centres, Sure Start and other organisations who work with children from Minority Ethnic groups. Additionally this year, there will be a focus on Primary Languages in Schools. A discussion forum will explore how children’s literature can  promote greater intercultural understanding.

Noon - 6.30pm 

Booksellers and publishers’ displays, opportunities to browse, purchase or order books and resources
 

1.30 - 2.15pm Websites that support the teaching of Primary languages
 
2.20 - 2.50 Talking Pen
Mantra Lingua introduce their new ICT resource
 
3.00 - 4.15 Using picture books to introduce Primary languages
